Enrolling in St. Colman's Community College

An Open Day will be held in the school on November.

Prospective students and their parents and teachers are invited to view to school and meet the principal and teaching staff.

The School will be open from 3pm to 9pm. All Pupils, Parents/Guardians and Teachers are invited to the school to see the school facilities and meet teachers and staff who may be able to answer any queries they may have.

The Principal will address Pupils, Parents and Teachers as two sessions, one in the afternoon and another later in the evening.

On a Saturday in January, an entrance test will be held in the school for new 1st year students who will be attending the following September. St. Colman's has an open entry policy and a student's place in the school is not dependent on passing the entrance test.

Open Day Annual Primary Schools Science Competition.
All Primary Schools are invited to take part.

Judging and Prizegiving will take place on the Open day in November.

Parental Consent for Enrolment: A form, available from the school, must be completed by parents of all prospective students. The form asks parents and guardians to certify the following:
I certify that the information supplied on the enrolment form is correct and I wish my child to be enrolled in the College.  I hereby agree to his/her taking part in any or all of the activities of the college including Games, Field Trips, College Outings and any other curricular or extracurricular activities organised by the College.

I authorise the College Authorities to arrange necessary medical treatment in cases of emergency while my child is in attendance at the College.  (If your child suffers form any condition or complaint, either physical or medical, requiring special treatment or consideration, please enclose a note to the Principal giving details of temporary emergency treatment, if this should become necessary at College).

All pupils, must undertake to abide by the college’s Code of Conduct.  The purpose of this code is to help create in the College an environment which is conducive to purposeful learning, social responsibility and personal and moral development.  It is based on an appreciation of human dignity, on respect for the person and property of others and for the environment, on the observance of Natural and Civil Law and on the necessity of maintaining the highest standard in the College and in Society.

While the statement above sets out the basic guidelines of the College’s Code of Conduct, Parents and Pupils are referred to the College Code of Conduct (available on entry) for more specific College Regulations concerning Attendance at Classes, Discipline, Safety, Homework, Uniforms, Care of property, etc.  These regulations must be regarded as the minimum required for the effective achievement of the College’s objectives.  Other Regulations may also be introduced if deemed desirable by the College Authorities.

I have read the College regulations and Code of Conduct and agree that my child is aware of them and will abide by them.  I understand than non-compliance with these may render by child subject to normal College disciplinary measures, even to the extent of suspension or exclusion from the College in the case of a very serious breach of the Code.
